Video training
Reporters and editors will be attending video training sessions by Chet Rhodes, the deputy multimedia editor for washingtonpost.com, to learn ways to shoot video for display with their stories on roanoke.com. We've done some experimenting in this area already, with a few reporters shooting brief video clips of stories they've covered. So far, I think it's added some context and relevance to a particular story.
I'm encouraged by the sign-ups. All three scheduled sessions with Chet are filled. We'll see what happens.
