interesting story a-mac. maybe justice is smart and made the bulk of the money before the tournament even began through corporate sponsors and ticket sales. who knows? anyway i want to thank you finally for the story years ago on sammy atkins. the old shortstop is still kickin. he was my coach back in the day. how old is he now,probably 70? he really loved your story on him. you are a good man. thanks

FTR, I really dislike virtually everything WVa. The Greenbrier is a success story, though, and should be celebrated. It’s not perfect, but it is exponentially more positive than negative. I’d say the same thing if it were located in Idaho, it’s not about proximity. Heck, don’t get me started on how great Herb Kohler’s Whistling Straits is, as well as his other courses. It’s about bootstrapping up a region that desperately needs it, and about how some ‘critics’ never can see beyond their local bridges.

Steve Elling seems like a bitter hack who is jealous his name is not as popular as Charlie Beljan.

While Justice ‘may have’ given back door money to Tiger and Phil, why is it that the WVa tourney is the only one where this is an issue? Let’s not pretend it doesn’t happen elsewhere. I really don’t know Elling’s background, he is so insignificant I couldn’t find it on Google, but he seems to me to be an urban dweeb who dislikes having to drive where there are trees and grass in order to reach a golf course to cover.

Let’s hear Elling spew sarcasm when he’s in Texas or Florida or California or any number of more ‘socially accepted’ locales. I’ve never heard of him prior to this rant, and I won’t be following him on his defective twitter or facebook accounts. What a loser.

The guy almost made me angry with his stupidity… LOL!
