Emergency halftime blog from my basement

TROUTVILLE BASEMENT — Hokies trail Boston College 13-3 at the break. I am now ready to advocate one series — just one — for Mark Leal. See how it goes. The mojo couldn’t be much worse for the Hokies right now.

This is not meant to be a singling-out of Logan Thomas. He’s 8-for-20 for 125 yards, no touchdowns and no picks and has six yards on five carries. He’s not the only problem here, not even close.

But his confidence looks to be in the gutter. What do you have to lose if you’re Tech? Thomas isn’t the kind of guy who’s never going to feel good again just because you shook things up during one November game.

Hokies have 61 rushing yards on 20 carries. Short yardage plays — both the calls and the execution — have been woeful, as usual.

Hokies will get the ball to start the second half. Bowl streak on the line and a ton of work to do.

Also, I like Duke getting the 13 points at Georgia Tech at 3:30. Good luck all.

I think this football team has lost the fight. The offense are flat. The defense are holding, but just barely.

If this doesn’t force Beamer to make change in the offseason, then I don’t know what will.

Nice return, but that first half was as ugly and sub mediocre as one can get. Remember this team lost to Army. Would be appropriate bookend to Pitt loss after Pitt lost to Youngstown State

    Beamer is a joke!

They pulled that one out of their arse. They took the worst defensive team in the ACC into overtime. They will need a heck of a lot more to beat UVA next week, Darn went into OT with the worst team in the ACC. Pathetic!!!!

The game is over and this is still how I feel.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results!
    Time to Clean House.

About the only halftime emergency I had from my basement was running out of liquid refreshment. Goodness knows you need a lot of it to watch this team.

It is sad that the battle for the Commonwealth Cup has come down to this – one team trying to disappoint the other, and the other one trying to be happy over a .500 record and a miserable bowl.

But what I want to know is “how about the Rambling’ Wreck from Georgia Tech”???? They are going to end up the Coastal champion and then beat FSU in the title game. Get ready because it is going to happen. I told you people at the beginning of the season that the Hokies would end up 5-7 or 6-6. Look it up, it is in the predictions. VT had nothing but a shambles of a team, overrated QB, coaches still in the dark ages highly overpaid and fans that are still delusional about their team. A complete overhaul is coming to this program because too much money has been frittered into this sports program for it to continue as a sinking ship. Good times are coming again to the Hokie Nation but it is going to be a new look.

HAHA — shows what you guys know. Beamer’s done in for 20-yrs and he’ll do it again this year (although not one for the books). Sit back and enjoy the game — Logan and Beamer pull it out!
