-The ACC’s unanimous decision to add Louisville was based solely on the profile of their sports programs and not on academics. Berman has that story here.
-Also in that story, there’ a quote from John Swofford about revisiting a cable network: “We will continue to look at that and are actually having some conversations now with our television partners about possibilities in that regard,” Swofford said. “I’m not sure we can do a whole lot better in terms of distribution than we’re doing with our current partners. Voters will let some time pass, allow the era become more of a memory, and then pull the trigger based on numbers that can’t be ignored.
-Something I haven’t heard anyone talk about on this: What would the atmosphere be like on induction day if Bonds were enshrined this year? Would you actually have fans going to Cooperstown to boo the guy?
-The Braves agree to terms on a five-year, $75.25 million contract with B.J. Upton. He had 28 homers and 31 steals last year while hitting .246.

-The 49ers will start Colin Kaepernick this week instead of Alex Smith.
