I think you made your prediction of the rout knowing who the Rutgers QB was.

I realize you are now grinding for reverse gear, perhaps a mea culpa would be a better strategy.

Yellow Rose - New eyes on special teams? Let me guess, that means the magical name of Shane - cue the angels singing - BEAMER. Especially since he is genetically predisposed to excel in special teams coaching.

Hey, Yellow Rose, here's a quick fact for you, courtesy of AB - Rutgers has blocked 38 kicks in the last five seasons. The Hokies have blocked less than 20% of that. Yeah, you know all those excuses by the ignorant (uninformed) apologists of Frank who pretend it's now impossible to block kicks, because Frank doesn't even try any more? This shows their ignorance (lack of knowledge). Ever feel labeled, Yellow Rose?

Somehow, because their coach cares enough to WORK, Rutgers manages to block kicks, despite the Beamer apologists pretending it is impossible these days. Funny how easily that disproves the apologists and proves that effort fills trophy cases.

Ouch. Seems like Yellow Rose got juuust a little too much into the tequila, and far too early. I'll try and transcribe from the blindered state of an apologist. Hey, Yellow Rose, notice I didn't (correctly) label you a lemming? That's because I'm respecting the RT rules of engagement and 'not going there'. I'll just stick with apologist, and you and I can both understand it means lemming. Here's to a PC world, yee haw!

Yellow Rose, I understand that the Hill Country is a beautiful locale, filled with lots of bigots of Deustch heritage. That's okay, I can understand that. No biggie on that one. What especially humors me, though, is your incessant drive to mislabel those who don't share your narrowed views.

You mention that 'several' of our offensive assistant coaches are suddenly in huge demand, yet nobody outside of Hokie apologist websites mentions any link to facts pertaining to those pretend 'interests'. Let me also be clear - no single reputable source has stated that ANY of the VT offensive coaches (how appropriate) has elicited ANY interest from ANY other FBS team. Maybe they have, and maybe the Hokie reporters have been lazy, time will prove that theory. All I'm saying is that NONE of the reputable sources covering Hokie football has reported any contact from outside sources.

So now Yellow Rose thinks the Hokies need help in the weight room? That Mike Gentry might be antiquated? Hello, Yellow Rose, you girlslapped at me for mentioning that back in the past spring. It's nice to see you finally coming over to the light. I've said for quite some time that Gentry's 1980's mentality needs to be updated. Nice to see you finally agree.

Your blather about DWilson is interesting. I guess all your friends' criticism of Wilson when Stinespring insisted on running him up the middle, where he was least effective, doesn't matter nearly as much as your envy of those who pointed this out as a weakness of Stinespring back then, a year ago.

All in all, it's fun seeing your desperate attempts at spin. I'm still waiting for you to actually comment on the new offensive coaches. Or is that yet another topic where you don't regurgitate until you're spoonfed the pablum? I'm eager to hear if you actually have any original thoughts. I'm virtually breathless in anticipation of an original thought from you...

CR - You are a hateful worm and unworthy of response since you obviously can't read or think. German obsession with winning beautifully has nothing to do with imperialism.

I find it interesting that one of our regular contributors stated that "no one would want" our coaches, yet several of those that are commonly detested get interviewed by others. I don't know about any of you but most professionals I know look for other opportunities from time to time. This is not an indicator of a sinking ship. It is an indicator people looking forward - which they ought to do.

Coach may choose to shuffle the staff. He has done it before. If the past is indicative of the future, he will make his moves when he feels like they will attract as little attention as possible and if anyone is fired, he will do it with dignity and tact.

I suspect he has already decided what course of action he wants to take and will explain it to those affected shortly. Any of you who wish to see a whipping post erected in Lane and the beatings opened to the public will be disappointed. Sorry.

I also expect that the fans who write here will pretty much hate his decisions just as many hated the last round of big change. Billy Hite had a loyal following but it is hard to say that moving him was an error.

We desperately need new eyes on Special Teams. Our performance the last few years in this regard doesn't live up to the "brand". I have said this many times over the years. Beamer should not have held court explaining how he schemed the blocks, but, I guess he was building the brand. Others are now better at it and have specific schemes to defeat ours. Let someone else do it.

We have a long standing weakness in starting from behind. This is a poise problem. They could use some help in sports pshychology.

I think they need some help in the weight room. We run out of gas before others do. While I thought for a while that our program was solid I think that others are now ahead of us. Assuming the opposition is doing it "naturally" I hate to think that our conditioning program is falling behind. You can't always equate physical training with injury but our lack of gas at the end, and the fact that our "big uglies" got pushed around this year, says to me that our weight training is "off".

Replacing David Wilson isn't easy but his praises are now being sung by people who questioned every "east-west" run and his fumbles (like JMU). Would that he had so much love while in uniform.

I seriously agree our special uniforms were god awful this season. I doubt that had a bunch to do with looking lost on the field - other than, perhaps, Thomas saying to himself "That uniform is so ugly the guy can't be on my team".

As to why the players looked lost on the field. "The snap" was really hard to accept. Marcus Davis routinely "checking out" during games is hard to accept. Both the clip that went viral on Davis and "the snap" will live in infamy. Just like the 2004 group will live infamy for mugging on camera during the BC loss.

Foster isn't clean either. The CIN game being a case in point. PIT another.

Every team is different and the players are still kids even if we wish they were more.

Thomas will be a great pro on the right team. But it will take 2-3 seasons. He should go pro (my opinion) if he will go in the second round. He is tall, strong. fast and throws a nice ball. Nothing wrong with him that good coaching and a decent line won't cure.

Go Hokies!

Lets play hoops.

Wow, I never knew the Yellow Rose was such an imperialist. Germans? Really? Remind me again, who is it that is irrational? The guy displaying facts about Frank Beamer's lack of performance, or the guy ranting about World Cup Soccer on a college football blog?

Give me a moment while I laugh my butt off.

Okay, I'm done laughing at the idiocy of German soccer paranoia, for at least a moment. I have to say, Yellow Rose has been extremely quiet for someone who is such a blindered cheerleader of Frank Beamer. Yellow Rose, if you can wipe away your tears for a minute and actually engage in rational discourse - Even you should be able to put the pom poms down for a moment and provide your thoughts as to who Frank will bring in to replace hi current staff of circus clowns on the offensive (never a more appropriate phrase) side of the team.

I realize you've been primarily hiding in shame since the bowl game mercifully ended, but perhaps you could actually provide content, instead of just lashing out in tear stained misery at those who post the truth. Talk to us. Dry your eyes, and blow your nose. Then stifle your sobs and express some coherence for a change.

Who do YOU think will be replaced, and how do YOU think it will go down?

All of you guys are being so ^&%&$%$^$ GERMAN about this.

For the 30+ years since I first lived there I had to listen to my German friends blab on and on about how their teams stinks because they don;t win every game with grace and beauty and total dominance across the field. Even the years they won the World Cup they were dissatisfied because the wins weren't beautiful enough.

Talk about spoiled rotton fans...

Now I am not, and never have been, a Stiney fan. But he is running the offense that the boss wants. If he wasn't, he wouldn't have lasted. Stiney has had some times when things went pretty weel (like the end of the Taylor years).

60 guys can play QB in the NFL at an acceptable level and maybe 4 of them are really "elite". Maybe 250 can play acceptably at the FCS level. Thomas is generally viewed as a "talent" rather than "NFL Ready".

Thomas does not suck. He is one of about 250 people, out of 350 million, who can do what he does.

Face it. YOU CAN'T DO WHAT HE DOES. You aren't as fast. You don't know what an "arm" is because you don't have one.

When it comes to Stiney; YOU CAN'T DO WHAT HE DOES. Is he a top tier Coach? P{robably not. Lots of evidence says "no". Are you better? ABSOLUTELY NOT. If you were you would be a coach.

All you guys are are the same as me: a FAT ASSED FAN who watches and gets mad.

The fellow I sit nest to at work was a QB on the '90 GT National Title Team and has shown me the "ring" to prove it. He didn;t finish at GT because he just wasn't good enough. He could accept his limits, you ought to accept yours.

Guys like CR who view anything other than "They suck, coach is scum and no one at the U does anything right ever" have no credibility because they have no perspective.

I am glad AM has finally grown tired of it and has started to call him out. His shots at AM this week were totalluy undeserved and unsupportable. Talk about living in your own bubble of delusion.

We can accept and laught at Barry because he is clearly so biased. At least he admitted he was "wrong" over on AB's site.

Now Beamer really does need to do something about the offense. I don't pretend to know what he will do. One thing he should not do is listen to my direction. He should ignore you, too.
