About This Series
“Age of Uncertainty” is an ongoing project focusing on the challenges facing the region’s rapidly growing elderly population. Reporter Beth Macy and photographer Josh Meltzer are documenting the stories of several area caregivers. Subsequent articles in the series will explore the concerns of these families as well as of professional caregivers in the community, from physicians to in-home service providers.
If you have a story you’d like to share for possible inclusion on our Web site, please e-mail Beth Macy or write to her c/o The Roanoke Times, P.O. Box 2491, Roanoke, Va. 24010.
