Signee profile: Highland Springs RB/LB Jerome Wright
The Hokies’ latest signee could play on either side of the ball.
Jerome Wright, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound athlete from Highland Springs High outside of Richmond, sent in his letter of intent. He’s a three-star recruit by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN.
A former homeschooler who played for the Central Virginia Disciples through his junior season, Wright drew some interest after transferring to Highland Springs as a senior, the same high school as former Hokies Victor Harris, Cris Hill and Derrick and Antoine Hopkins.
He ran for 607 yards and 15 touchdowns last year and made 37 tackle, two sacks an interception on defense. He could play running back or linebacker in college.
Despite owning a 4.0 GPA, he’ll likely prep a year at Fork Union.
