Wilson, Hosley sign, set for Giants minicamp this weekend
The NFL’s new collective bargaining agreement seems to have made contract negotiations much easier.
Former Hokies running back David Wilson and cornerback Jayron Hosley have agreed to four-year contracts with the New York Giants, according to numerous outlets.
Follow me on Twitter and Facebook.
Financial terms were not immediately available because the team has not officially announced the signings yet, but Wilson, as the 32nd pick, is in line for a $3.3 million bonus. Hosley, as the 94th pick, is due in the neighborhood of a $515,000 bonus.
Those figures are slotted in the NFL’s new CBA, although there is supposedly some negotiation involved.
The Giants begin their rookie mini-camp today. It runs through Sunday.
Dallas has not signed fifth-round pick and former Virginia Tech receiver Danny Coale yet. The Cowboys will reportedly wait until June 1 to sign their picks, when $6 million in salary cap space becomes available after cornerback Terence Newman‘s contract comes off the books.
The Cowboys had their rookie minicamp last weekend. Coale told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram he’s comfortable playing any of the receiver spots.

Will you be able to see how they are doing? For the first time in a long time, I’m actually looking forward to some NFL actions. I want to see how Wilson and Hosley fare against the pro. Danny Coale included. Speaking of Coale, have he signed a contract yet?
I’ll check up on reports by the NFL guys, but I won’t personally see how they are doing.
Haven’t seen anything about Coale signing yet. The Cowboys had their minicamp last weekend, so maybe that delayed things.
My buddy who has a kid coaching with the Cowgirls (and is a Florida State grad himself so follows the ACC) tells me he will ask about Coale from time to time. Right now the big inside news out of that organization is how much better they expect to be on D.
