To all the people who have commented on this situation, you really should not make ignorant comments unless you know exactly what happened or you were there. Dadi took a bike that had belonged to a student last year and was abandoned. The former owner left the bike unchained and on campus during the summer because they did not want it anymore and did not intend to use it again. There are a lot of students at Tech who have a lot of wealth in their families so they can afford to just leave there bikes and buy new ones, this happens yearly at Tech. The VT Police then either leave the bikes as they are or unchain them to use these bikes as “bait bikes” until the next year starts. Dadi was caught in a situation where he did not realize using this bike was a crime or even a bad thing, if so, knowing Dadi personally, he wouldn’t have used the bike. Dadi needs peoples support now more than negative comments. He has taken full responsibility for his actions and wants to make things right again. Coming from a rough past and difficult home situation Dadi needs supporters and not critics, because the last thing he would try to do is intentionally commit a crime that would lose him his scholarship for an education and probable career in football.

Robert: I guess Tech guys only need lawyers to represent them for doing stupid stuff. Seems like UVA guys need lawyers to defend them in murder cases. Even Tech students get murdered in C’ville. Now, tell where is the crime capitol of US universities???

Robert, did you go to UVA? Your grammar is pitiful. If you’re in need of some cash, and did go to UVA, I’d blackmail the school. Tell them you’re going to keep presenting yourself as a UVA grad who can’t spell, capitalizes the wrong words, etc., unless they pay you a sizeable sum. My guess is that you did not go to UVA, but maybe I’m holding them in too high regard.

How stupid do you have to be to think it’s acceptable to steal someone’s bike? ABout as stupid as you have to be to agree to pose as a pizza boy and rob somebody with a fake gun.

In both cases, the stupid people deserve to lose their scholarship and be kicked out of college. Don’t bother with the ‘we’ve all done…’ crap. We’ve not all decided to rob someone, nor decided to steal their transportation. Most of us are not that stupid. Unfortunately, we see two cases where somebody was that stupid.

This only reflects on VT in a marginal sense, as it happens at a lot of places. As long as Beamer deals with it properly, it’s not a big deal. The problem is with enabling scholarship players. Let’s hope that is not the case here, or in the Journell case.
