Three Hokies defenders make the preseason All-ACC team
The media’s selections
for the All-ACC preseason team was released Wednesday, and three Hokies defenders — defensive end James Gayle, linebacker Bruce Taylor and cornerback Kyle Fuller – were on the list.
Follow me on Twitter and Facebook.
Quarterback Logan Thomas, who was second to Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins in the preseason Player of the Year voting, did not make the list, which only featured players who were on the first team.
Clemson’s Tajh Boyd, who was a first-team pick at the end of last year, was selected at quarterback.
Clemson, Florida State and North Carolina had the most selections on the team with four apiece. Virginia Tech was next with three.
Gayle, Taylor and Fuller are all on the preseason watch list for the Nagurski trophy, which goes to college football’s player of the year. Gayle and Fuller were second-team picks at the end of last season. Taylor, who missed the final six games with a Lisfranc injury, earned an honorable mention.

I’d rather have Logan Thomas than Tahj Boyd. I think that Thomas should make this season a memorable one and make a case he should have been the 1st teamer instead of Boyd.
But Clemson did win the title game right?
If it’s about the title game, then why are three hokies listed on the defensive side of the ball with no Clemson Tigers listed in that category?. Oh yeah, silly me, I forgot about the West Virginia game.
A pity the Hokes didn’t play the Mounties.
We’ll play the Snake Eaters anytime.
You got Austin Peay!! Who else do you need to play??
