Injury report: Bonner, Miller, Taylor listed as probable
Three Virginia Tech starters who were dealing with injuries this week look like they’ll be available at Pittsburgh.
The Hokies announced in their Thursday injury report that safety Detrick Bonner (leg), center Andrew Miller (ankle) and linebacker Bruce Taylor (ankle) are all probable for Saturday’s game.
Follow me on Twitter and Facebook.
There had been questions about Bonner’s availability after secondary coach Torrian Gray told Frank Beamer‘s personal website that the safety hadn’t practiced all week. Gray said the Hokies were preparing as though Bonner wouldn’t be ready, moving Kyshoen Jarrett to free safety and elevating backup Michael Cole to the first team at rover.
Miller sprained his ankle in the second quarter of the Austin Peay game. He did rehab at Monday’s practice before returning in a blue, limited-contact jersey at Tuesday’s practice. He surprised coaches by being able to participate in every drill, though.
Taylor, who sat out the Austin Peay game with an ankle injury, had a death in the family but is expected to be with the team and play in Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Linebacker Tariq Edwards (knee), as expected, is listed as out. He has yet to play this season.
Here’s the full injury report:
- Out for Season: Nick Acree (knee), D.J. Coles (knee)
- Out: Edwards (knee)
- Probable: Riley Beiro (hamstring), Bonner (leg), Miller (ankle), Taylor (ankle)

Another good report.
What Uniforms Will The Hokies Be Wearing This Saturday?
All white with maroon helmets.
Have a good trip to Pitt. Take plenty of tums, for when you eat to much, and put a $20 on the red for me! See you on the other side. VT 30 Pitt 10.
