Why not start Marc Leal and light a fire under Thomas?

Wrong you make the denfence stop you! Ask Bud, has O-cain start drinking again?

When is Beamer gonna finally wake up and realize that Hokie nation needs some new blood on the Offensive Staff. Change must be made to several spots. At this point it’s not about loyality, it’s about W/L.

Agree on staff comments unfortunately. Need results. Im sorry but coach o’cains results demonstrate his stature as a retread. Need energy enthusiasm and execution. Being a former QB i dont see the teaching or knowledge transfer to Logan. Now Logans not trusting his WRs fully either which exascerbates his technique flaws under pressure. Either poor planning & / or poor execution falls more on leader/coach than player. Also suggests ocain doesnt have enough confidence in O as a unit to call play that puts us in better position to take grass…far too defensive call selections over several year period.

Bet the hokie nation is glad they have not played a ranked team so far. Are they the only 1A team that can say this?? Guess everyone is just used to this.

Tech will have Alabama as an opponent next year. That is not good for Tech.

Eagle, you should keep pretending that VT has a weak schedule.

Mel Kiper just took Logan Thomas off his big board saying he needs another year to work on his accuracy. Andy do you know if the Austin Peay & Bowling Green games were sellouts? I could help but notice some empty bleachers.

Games at Lane are listed based on number of tickets sold. That includes tickets sold to opposing teams – 4K is the norm for ACC games. If the opponent returns 3800 of the 4000 tickets, they are still listed as ‘sold’. Season ticket sales are slightly below 40K for the year. Student ticket sales are 20K or so. Add in 4k opponent sales, and you’re at 62K or a little more, out of 65K capacity.

Tech still says they have sellouts every game, even though they have reduced the seating capacity by about 1K or more this past season. not sure the reasoning, but it’s their game. I’m also not sure why anyone without season tickets who wants to see a game would buy them through the Hokie ticket office. You can walk up outside Lane for virtually any game other than Miami, F$U, or UVa, and get tickets for well under half price.

I will be happy if we beat UVA and realistically move on to next year in which we put this year behind us as developmental year.
Oh yeah, the alarm clock has gone off and the young talent will be ready in all due time, just not in 2012 nor should they be, just saying

crooked…wrong again…the unsold away game tickets are returned to VT a few weeks prior to the game and then sold thru VT…it happened for the first 3 games and VT sold them all. Also, the reduction of seats was only about 500 seats or so and it had to do with building the larger theater style folding stadium seats into the section beneath the press box for outdoor club seating.

andy while i like your columns i beg to differ about the hokies cant compete consistantly for the NC the stae of VA has the best talent in football outside of much larger states (fla ,tx california) period and it was in the USA TODAY newspaper a few years ago. We need a coaching change outside of he defense PERIOD!!!!!! Beamer and stiney are ultra conservative and always will be and thts not the college game today. Sorry butt it is what it is!!!!!!!

  14. Jerry | October 5, 2012 at 7:30 pm

How could you do worse than Newsome/O’Cain/Stinespring? As anyone can see this year they rely on the talent in the backfield to make the offense look decent. No superstar RB and QB making something out of nothing>>>no offense

Put Leal in, he couldn’t do any worse than Logan either
