Will there be any notable positive changes in the program for next year, such as in the type of team we will be next year as far as personnel or coaches? We already know the answer, but it will not hurt to ask.
Mack Brown dropped his O coordinator one year removed from the national championship and I thought that was to appease the masses. I didn’t agree with that. I think VT needs to make change to set a new tone with the team. It also didn’t produce immediate results.
Most of the vitriol I see on comments to blogs and articles seems to focus on Coach Stinespring and surprisingly to me, Shane Beamer. With the highest completion percentage a Coach O’Cain quarterback has produced being 59% in Tyrod Taylor’s senior year I would expect him to get more heat. Also if Cornell Brown doesn’t show a proficiency for recruiting soon would his position be better served for someone to focus on special teams. VT is only using the whip linebacker in about half of its games and that is his specialty now.
Do you think Coach Beamer will relenquish the special teams coaching in part or whole to someone else? Do you still think too many other pieces are missing around him or that Thomas has regressed?
Stinespring went to the booth to help the running game. Wonder how the head coach thinks that is working out for him.
I’d much rather have this years offensive line and last years skill players. Oh and you can add making bad decisions on the read option to Logans deficiencies
