Read a replay of today’s live Virginia Tech chat
Thanks to everyone who followed the chat to a Friday this week. It was a small but involved crowd. We went for the full hour and a half. If you missed it, read a replay below.
Also, if you missed it in today’s paper, we took a look at what went wrong this year for both Virginia Tech and Virginia. Columnist Aaron McFarling offers some quick fix suggestions for both schools.

Concerning your comments about the coaching not being worse than last year and there was success last year. Just look at the broken tackles over the past couple of years due to NO blocking from our ” great ” running backs and look this year at the same blocking but no broken tackles, result is poor running attack due to lack of blocking and not as good running backs. Bottom line, VT needs a new offensive line coach and probably other new offensive coaches.
They need ALL new coaches, it is not what went wrong this year, it is what has been going wrong for the past 10 years. VT has salvaged 10 win seasons by virtue of beating low quality teams. The defense has given up a zillion points this year to mediocre teams and gave up 68 last year in two games to Clemson. Complete overhaul across the board is what is needed; it is time to bring the Hokies up to the current world of reality. At first I thought there was no way UVA could beat VT tomorrow but now I am not so sure. After seeing Matt Schaub against Detroit yesterday and realizing the guy has a lot of class, it reminded me of the last time Tech lost to UVA and that was when Schaub was the QB for the HOOS. Must be an omen or something, UVA may just take that game and probably can if the same team that played NC State shows up. You just never know. Go Yellow Jackets!! Soon you will be the ACC champ and on the way to the Orange Bowl.
