Episode 6 of the Hokies Press Pass podcast

It’s a slow news week at Virginia Tech. While Coachageddon is taking place across the country, things are still relatively quiet in Blacksburg for now, depending on how you interpret Frank Beamer‘s non-answer on a coaching change question at a bowl press conference earlier this week.

Follow me on Twitter and Facebook.

But Aaron McFarling and I found things to talk about in this week’s podcast anyway. We chat about the Rutgers matchup in the Russell Athletic Bowl, virtual Frank encouraging fans to buy tickets, the aforementioned non-answer on coaching changes, the ACC’s chances in its bowl games and what kind of bowl swag players are getting this postseason.

Give it a listen below. To hear it on a mobile device, click on the download button in the upper right hand corner of the player.

Hokies favored in the betting line against Rutgers is pretty funny. Did we cover even once this year?

3-6 against the spread this year. 0-6 away from Lane Stadium.

Sure hope Beamer has a clue and makes changes!

Newsflash: A fight breaks out at the WVU-Marshall basketball game:

“Bad blood between the rivals heated up late in the game.

Players from both teams had to be separated with 1:39 left after a Kilicli basket. The officials went to the replay monitor to sort things out.

Marshall’s Robert Goff was ejected, as were four West Virginia players who left the bench: Aaric Murray, Terry Henderson, Jabarie Hinds and Eron Harris. One player for each team also was assessed a technical foul, and two more technicals were called in the final minute.”

That’s what we can look forward to at Saturday’s basketball game.
