Frank, Stinespring is not a bad coach, he’s a bad coordinator. He coached the last good offensive line the Hokies had.

I remember Cuozzo at UVa. He weent to dentistry school in the NFL off season and became a dentist while still in the league. A great argument in the mid 60′s was “who was the best backup QB in the NFL, Cuozzo or Zeke Bartkowski”. Being a Packer fan, I always went with Zeke.

I agree with VTRedWolf about UVa. I dislike them much more the week of the annual footbasll game. I dislike Miami all the time.

I think the knicks also won the NBA close to that same time frame but that may have been 1970. That also “almost” rhymes with Jets and Mets, especially in a rap song….

Good stuff. I had no idea Gary Cuozzo played at UVA.

Looks like as far as super bowl winners, VT and UVA are much closer. Assuming that was a cut and paste by Andy in his post, one has to wonder who the “Tennessee Titals” are that Mike Frederick played for.

I think Jets (Over the Colts)(Namath)- Mets (Over the Orioles)(Seaver) in succesive seasons was the only time there was an NFL and MLB Champion from the same city with names that rhyme.

Truth, my son recently watched a tape of the 2000 Sugar Bowl. He said the O scheme and play calling was pretty basic but was surprised to see how physical and tough our OL was. It would be nice to return to those days.

Virginia Tech needs to put together a good season in 2013 and remove the bad feeling from this season. Maybe the new coaches can do that for us.
Having the two leftover coaches on the offensive staff might not be a good thing. That BS might have interest in him from the Colts is a really good joke, or bad joke, whichever way a person looks at it, it is ridiculous. He is a terrible coach and that is it.
It would be nice for Tech to get some really good players in the program at the same time and make a good run with them.

UVa has had quite a bit more talent succeed in the NFL…more than actual success playing at UVa. UVa always had big talent..just hasn’t translated to winning games mainly due to inconsistent coaching. Coaching has been the hallmark to Tech success over the last 20 years. Just need to get over the top now with the new blood on offense.
