Early enrollee profile: DB Brandon Facyson

2.06p facysonDefensive back Brandon Facyson, from Newnan, Ga., is one of four members of the 2013 signing class already to have enrolled in classes at Virginia Tech.

Facyson began classes late last month and will go through spring drills. At  6-foot-2, 173 pounds, he’s one of the taller defensive backs on the Hokies’ roster.

He played on both sides last year for Northgate High, catching 31 passes for 439 yards and four touchdowns to earn all-county honors by the Newnan Times-Herald, despite an ankle injury. He projects as a cornerback in college.

He had an odd morning when he committed to the Hokies at a one-day camp this summer, doing so after being rushed to the hospital earlier in the day with difficulty breathing.

Facyson graduated with a 3.95 GPA and said he wants to be a heart surgeon. He is the Hokies’ only signee from Georgia this year.
