Signee profile: DE Wyatt Teller

2.06p tellerDefensive end Wyatt Teller, the Virginia High School Coaches Association’s Group AA Defensive Player of the Year, has signed with the Hokies.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Teller, a consensus four-star recruit who picked Virginia Tech over Virginia in August, is among the highest-ranked players in the Hokies’ class. Rivals ranks him as the No. 59 player nationally and 247Sports has him at No. 110.

He had 120 tackles, 11 sacks and four forced fumbles as a senior at Liberty High in Bealeton, finishing as the Region II and Evergreen District Player of the Year and getting a U.S. Army All-America game invite. The previous season, he had 85 tackles, 27 tackles for al oss, 9.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.

He could play end or tackle at Virginia Tech, depending on how his body fills out. He is the only defensive lineman in the 2013 class.

What’s his biggest attribute?

“My motor is always going and it always helps me get tackles,” he said in August.

If Bud Foster thinks Teller is cartwheel worthy, you know the guy has got to be good!

Sounds like a Danny Coale in a DE’s body. Exciting.
