Quarterback Logan Thomas was one of 50 players to make the watch list for the Walter Camp Award, a player of the year honor. He had previously been named to the watch lists for the Maxwell Award (player of the year) and Davey O’Brien Award (top quarterback).
Thomas made these same lists before a disappointing 2012 season, but he and Tech coaches are encouraged for the senior’s 2013 season after an offseason working with new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler.
For all his struggles, Thomas still accounted for 3,500 yards, a single-season school record, and 27 touchdowns last year.
Thomas is one of four ACC players on the Walter Camp list, joining Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd and receiver Sammy Watkins and Miami running back Duke Johnson,
