Twitter reactions were … well, passionate.
My thought? I like last year’s camo look better. I don’t know how often the military uses neon orange in its rotation. Perhaps it’ll come in handy on future battles on Mars. (I believe when they first came out, many people thought they’d serve as a good look for Hunters Appreciation Day.)
They’re probably still better than the Foghorn Leghorn look Tech was fond of late last season. And I’d probably put them ahead of the Turkey Tracks helmets too.
I still thought Tech’s gray and maroon look in the opener was sharp, but I might be in the minority. I’m eagerly awaiting the inevitable “Horse on a Treadmill” logo on the helmets.
I’m sure this will lead to another round of comments that, “They should be focusing on practicing instead of what they look like!!!” comments, as if the coaching staff is delaying practice, sorting through color palettes until they find a hue of orange that befits the university.
At the risk of opening this up to those kind of comments, what do you think of the look? I’m pretty sure I already know, but feel free to leave a comment below.
Keep in mind, they’re for a good cause. Virginia Tech has auctioned off the camo uniforms and helmets in the past with a portion of the proceeds going to military charities.
