“Fly-through video” of the proposed Center in the Square changes

We have an animated video created by Spectrum Design that shows what Center in the Square is supposed to look like when the proposed $27 million project is finished.

(Warning for those of you in your offices: it has a loud soundtrack.)

  2. Could be promising. Spectrum’s not known for their visualization capabilities, so it’s not too surprising we don’t get a very strong sense of how the spaces will feel. Great soundtrack. Really adds. However, anything that keeps the Center up-to-date and relevant is a good thing.

How typical, BTW, that mine is the first comment. If it has to do with the arts or – God forbid – “culture”, Southwest Virginians couldn’t care less. Now, if we were talking about Virginia Tech football, NASCAR, or the right to own a bazillion guns – well, how many thousands of comments would there be by now?

  3. I like it. Space looks very visitor friendly, and welcoming. I love the roof top utilization. I guess those are wind generators on the roof, that is very “green”, but I bet that gets cut by the money managers. I hope the reality will be nearly as good as this rendering.
