Roanoke Rescue Mission signing ladders for Rise Up Roanoke this afternoon

From my Inbox to you: This evening, the Rescue Mission in Roanoke will be putting signatures on two ladders to be donated to the “Rise Up Roanoke” project.

Rescue Mission Guests, Staff and Volunteers put their unique signature on ladders for Rise Up Roanoke

The Rescue Mission is providing ladders for Rise Up Roanoke and will invite Shelter Guests, Recovery Program Participants, Volunteers and Staff to put their own signature on the ladders March 1 between 4:30 and 6:00pm in the Rescue Mission’s Main Dining Room. Guests from children with their parents in emergency shelter to men and women in Recovery from addiction will participate.

Rise Up Roanoke is a perfect fit for the Rescue Mission. Rise Up Roanoke is meant to be a metaphor for the hopes and dreams of the Roanoke Community, all of its members holding each other up, rising up together. The Rescue Mission is a pivotal place where the dreams of Roanoke’s neediest citizens receive hope and encouragement to rise up to overcome poverty and addiction. We join with artist Charlie Brouwer and the Taubman Museum of Art to be part of this heartwarming event.

Since 1948, The Rescue Mission has continued a tradition of comprehensive care to those in crisis. The Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered, grassroots organization offering programs to help people physically, psychologically, socially and spiritually. The homeless, the hungry, the sick, the addicted, the abused and the hopeless have all found a warm welcome at the Rescue Mission. 1. I plan on seeing the exhibit later this week, so thank you for including the photo in this article.

Also, being of Filipino descent, I find it heart-warmingly interesting there is a flag of the Philippines on it.

  2. If I had only known about this build before it was finished I would have personaly sent some over to help. But the fact that all the ladders are from differant people from Roanoke’s makes it all the more special. Great work, great cause.
