Yarn bombers strike at Studio Roanoke
A grateful HT to Dwayne Yancey:
Cate Leonard, owner of the Wyrd Sisters yarn shop in Roanoke, and six of her knitters staged what might have been Roanoke’s first “yarn bombing” Saturday night. Within an hour, the front of the Studio Roanoke theatre on Campbell Avenue was adorned in whimsical yarn decorations.
A “yarn bombing” is sort of the knitting equivalent of graffiti, although this “bombing” was done with the consent of the theatre.
Blogger’s note: Yarn-bombing is a national phenomenon. Here’s a link to a news story about a group that carries them out in Boston, the South End Knitters, who now have a show at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum Biennial.

Looks like you ladies had a grand old time!
