“Hunger Games” humor

I note that a year ago I wrote a Cornershot predicting that “The Hunger Games” would be the next big thing after Harry Potter and “Twilight.” Click here to read it if you don’t believe me. (Not that it was a difficult guess to make.)

Naturally, a phenomenon this big had to inspire satire. Here’s a “College Humor” video imagining “The Hunger Games” being merchandised the way many stereotypical toys for girls have been marketed over the decades:

And here’s a link to an Entertainment Weekly feature imagining “The Hunger Games” as brought to the big screen from auteurs ranging from Alfred Hitchcock to Roger Corman.

 

ETA: For something a little more literary, here’s a spoof that crosses “The Hunger Games” with “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
