Roanoke Children’s Theatre announces 2012-13 season

The Roanoke Children’s Theatre, which performs at the Taubman Theater inside the Taubman Museum of Art, has announced which plays will be in its 2012-13 season.

Oct. 18-28: “Pinkalicious” by Elizabeth Kahn, Victoria Kahn and John Gregor, a musical adaptation of the children’s book about a girl who loves pink so much she turns pink herself.

Dec. 6-23: “Junie B. 1st Grader Jingle Bells, Batman Smells” by Barbara Park and Allison Gregory. Popular mischief-maker Junie B. Jones, who first appeared on the Taubman stage in 2010 in “Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business,” returns for some Christmas season high jinks.

Feb. 29-March 2, 2013: “Eric & Elliot: Sometimes You Need to Check the Rearview Mirror for the Warning Signs” by Dwayne Hartford. RCT continues its annual program of plays for older children addressing social issues with this look at teen depression and suicide.

May 20-31, 2013 and June 18-29, 2013: “Stuart Little” by E.B. White and Joseph Robinette. A musical based on the beloved children’s classic about a mouse raised as a human.

Funded by a $55,000 grant from the Taubman Foundation, RCT will have touring productions of “Eric & Elliot” and “Stuart Little” that will run from October to May.
