The art of … Campbell Avenue?

From Sunday’s column:

Liminal: Alternative Artspace gallery in Community High School at 302 Campbell Ave. S.E. has opened an unusual new art show, “Star City Shadow School & Philosophy INC Study of Campbell Avenue,” spearheaded by Roanoke avant-garde filmmaker Matt Ames and performance artist Olchar Lindsann.

Ames said the show involves an artistic study of Campbell Avenue in Roanoke from Williamson Road to 10th Street, in the spirit of the “Philosophy INC Probes Roanoke” exhibition presented last spring at the Taubman Museum of Art. The show will include photography, video, drawings, artistically interpreted historical accounts, maps and more.

Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 345-1688 or visit the gallery’s Facebook page.
