Taubman Museum of Art seeks works by late Botetourt County artist Harold Little for upcoming exhibition
Taubman Museum President and CEO David Mickenberg sent me this email, which I’m sharing here, as well as the scan of a bio that David provided.
I appreciate anything you can do to present the museum’s search for works by Harold Little.
I have attached a short bio of Little. The exhibition, which opens at the TMA this fall, is being organized by Dorsey Taylor and Ed Bordett. The gallery guide will be written by Brian Sieveking, one of the museum’s adjunct curators. We would like the help of the community in our search for paintings and/or prints by Little for possible inclusion in the exhibition.
Any assistance in getting this word out would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
David

Mike, The Avery Gallery has some if Harold E Little’s work currently, Marietta Georgia
I have two Harold Little prints- one unframed Burning off the Large Garden and one framed October Tree, and would be honored for either to be used by the Taubman.
I have a lovely little Harold Little print of hens in a henhouse in Fincastle. I would be glad to lend it for the exhibition if you don’t already have one.
I have 8 pieces of Harolds, including a sketch of St. Andrew’s church, the original steel plate, one oil painting and 5 etchings. I would be more than glad to loan them for your exhibit.
Folks, I am passing word back to David Mickenberg and Dorsey Taylor of LinDor Arts, who are working on this together. Thank you!
I have two small city market scene prints Harold gave my wife and I years ago that I would be happy to loan for the exhibit.
Having written the short biographical piece referenced above, I would be happy to add to any information needed by Brian Sieveking for his “gallery guide.” My husband Harold Little would have been honored by the proposed exhibition of his work.
I’ll pass that along, Harriet.
I have a “1st Street S.E. City Market, Roanoke” print. I would like to get more information on loaning it to the museum for this exhibit. Thanks
