Recruiting more mice: Southwest Virginia Ballet calls for “Nutcracker” auditions

Southwest Virginia Ballet will hold auditions for its annual production of “The Nutcracker” starting at 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at Tanglewood Mall in Roanoke.

Auditions are open to children ages 7 and older. Dance experience is preferred but not required. Advanced dance students and adults who wish to try out for pointe or acting roles should contact artistic director Pedro Szalay before the audition at pedro@svballet.org.

Southwest Virginia Ballet asks that auditioners fill out registration forms ahead of time and bring them to the audition. Forms can be downloaded at http://www.svballet.org/nutcrackerauditions.htm.

For more information, call 387-3978 or email Nancy Kelderhouse at nancy@svballet.org.
