Theater at Lime Kiln to remain open, lays off all employees, requests to keep donations

UPDATE 10/1: Read the full news story here.

Theater at Lime Kiln Executive Director Tony Russell just sent out this press release about the Lime Kiln board’s decision this morning (click here to read more):

Today, Theater at Lime Kiln’s Board of Directors unanimously passed a motion to keep Theater at Lime Kiln open included in which was their intention to effect all repairs and renovations to the Bowl space as part of the Phase 1 of the reconstruction plan.

The Board will be contacting all donors to the Help Stoke the Kiln fund to request a variance for their donations to the Help Stoke the Kiln fund to allow those donations to be directed to the Phase 1 reconstruction. The Board will continue to seek funding from additional sources so as to facilitate presentation of a 2013 season.

As part of the restructuring of the theater’s operations all staff, full and part time, will be laid off and the Board will take over the day to day operations of the theater.
