A celebration of the life of Dorothy Gillespie, 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at Roanoke City Market Building

Dorothy Gillespie

I just received this note from the late artist Dorothy Gillespie’s son, Gary Isreal.

Dear Family and Friends, The Roanoke art community will be having a “Celebration of Dorothy Gillespie’s Life” on October 30 from 6PM-8PM. and to which everyone is invited. During the evening there will be a champagne toast in the “Ballroom” on the third floor of the Market Building (built 1880) celebrating Roanoke’s favorite daughter’s life, career and art work.

An Orlando Sentinel story on Gillespie’s passing that includes an interview with Israel can be found by clicking this link.
