Roanoke Mayor David Bowers to sing at Science Museum of Western Virginia fundraiser?

If that notion makes you do a double-take, well, I did too. Nonetheless, it appears to be true. From my Inbox, and Facebook, to you:

Roanoke Mayor David Bowers will headline a concert Thursday, Dec. 13, from 7-10 p.m. at Fork in the City to benefit the Science Museum of Western Virginia!

The event is free and open to all. A portion of food and drink sales will go to the Science Museum. Audience members can show their appreciation — or encourage a performer’s exit from the stage : ) — with a donation.

Hosted by Tommy Roller, the concert will also feature performances by Sam Hensley, Walter Peake, Randy Dickey, Mike Ayre, Joe Crawford, Aimee Bostwick, Dan Chitwood, Wanda Eaves-Taylor and Museum executive director Jim Rollings.
