Planned Parenthood Announces Inaugural Art Event A Right To Choose!

Planned Parenthood in Roanoke is pleased to announce the inaugural A Right To Choose! – an art fundraiser supporting the organization’s programs and services provided in the Roanoke Valley.  (Note: previously we have held The Right to Shoes! This new event is an expansion of that past event). The auction will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013, 7-9pm, at The Sanctuary (1217 Maple Avenue, SW), downtown Roanoke. In addition to great art, there will be food, drinks, and music provided by Just the Two of Us.

For this year’s event, artists are considering a right that they want to represent in the conception of their artwork entries. Examples include but are not limited to: free speech, women’s rights, gay marriage, censorship, environmental rights, etc.). It can also be a right that artists wish existed. Entries are of any medium of the artist’s choosing. Artwork will be auctioned at the event for fundraising purposes. All entries will be judged by a panel for five awards that will be pre-selected and then announced at the event. All artists will receive recognition at the event (they can be anonymous).

Admission $20. For more information call 562-2370 ext. 7041 or visit www.pphs.org/events.
