Rock’n'roll poster artist Richard Biffle holds show and signing Jan. 19 in Roanoke

Here’s something and unusual for eclectic art lovers. Downtown Roanoke gift store and tobacco shop Ripple will host a show by rock’n'roll poster artist Richard Biffle with a meet-and-greet noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. The store’s website rattles off Biffle’s impressive resume.

Biffle utilizes a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics, pastels, and computers. He is most well known for his poster art, working with bands such as The Grateful Dead, The Dead, The Other Ones, Carlos Santana, The Black Crowes, Widespread Panic, Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, Rat Dog, Gov’t Mule, Warren Haynes, Yonder Mountain, Hot Tuna, Allman Brothers, CSN&Y, Ekoostik Hookah, Paul Simon, Deep Purple, Blues Traveler, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Cheap Trick, The Joplin Estate, Widespread Panic, The Jimi Hendrix Estate, SOJA, Dark Star Orchestra, YMSB, Mickey Hart, Bruce Hornsby, Loggins and Messina, Telluride, Brothers of a Feather, Tim Reynolds, Little Feat and more including Marvel Comics.
