Breaking news: WSET’s Jamey Singleton injured in crash

Staff writer Chase Purdy has this breaking news story:

Authorities this morning shut down all lanes of Virginia 122 in Bedford County following a traffic crash that sent three men to the hospital, said state police Sgt. Rob Carpentieri.

Carpentieri said Jamey Singleton, 34, of Rocky Mount, was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse north along Va. 122 at 9:49 a.m. when he crossed the centerline and struck a Swan delivery truck. The crash occurred near the Stony Fork Road intersection.

Carpentieri said emergency crews had to cut through the wreckage to extricate Singleton, who was later airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
