RSO AND BERNADETTE PETERS IN SALEM
The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra will present its third and final Pops Series concert of the 2012-2013 season on March 8 with renowned, award winning singer, actress, dancer Bernadette Peters. The concert is sponsored by Allstate, Carilion Clinic, Foot Levelers, Gentle Shepherd Hospice, and Virginia Western Community College Educational Foundation. The Pops Series is sponsored by A Friend of the RSO.
Bernadette Peters is widely considered one of the most legendary Broadway stars of all time, but her talents extend far beyond the Great White Way. Her trophy mantel bows under the weight of multiple Tony, Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe awards. Over the decades, the crimson-haired icon has earned a warm spot in audiences’ hearts with her original interpretations of characters in Stephen Sondheim musicals, including Dot and Marie in Sunday in the Park with George, the ugly old witch in Into the Woods, and Mama Rose in Gypsy. Reels upon reels of classic films also feature her scarlet ringlets, including the comedy blockbuster The Jerk, where she shared the screen with iconic comedian Steve Martin.
During this Pops Series performance with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, Peters will project her mighty voice through the rafters of the Salem Civic Center as she reminds audiences how she became a triple-threat legend!
Tickets and information about the Pops Series concert with Bernadette Peters are available by calling the RSO box office at 540.343.9127 and at the RSO’s website at rso.com.
The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra celebrates its mission to enrich lives, to educate, and to entertain diverse audiences in western Virginia with the highest quality instrumental and choral music.

Does anyone know if shes flying in to ROA? I’m going to the show, but I usually go there to meet the star and I hope to meet her tomorrow morning!
Thanks and God Bless!
She arrived yesterday. Sorry you missed her.
See you tonight.
Thanks, Beth! Have fun with Bernadette.
