Call for auditions: Gamut Theatre’s “Eleemosynary”

From my Inbox to you:

Auditions for Eleemosynary by Lee Blessing

Gamut announces auditions for our next production, Eleemosynary by Lee Blessing.  Auditions will be held on Thursday, April 25th from 6 – 9 pm and Saturday, April 27th from 1 – 4 pm in the June M. McBroom Theatre at Community High School, 302 E. Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA.

Eleemosynary will be directed by Michael Mansfield and performances will be Thursday – Saturday June 20-22 and 27-29 at Community High School.

Eleemosynary is a beautifully written play that explores the relationships, through time, of three generations of women – daughter, mother and grandmother.  Echo is the daughter, in her teens and a competitor in the National Spelling Bee Championships.  The mother, Artie, is in her 30’s – 40’s and is an internationally known researcher who is comfortable with her intellect but not with her family. Dorothea, in her 50’s -   60’s, is the grandmother and is a self described eccentric whose interests include such things as teaching Artie to fly with just a pair of homemade wings.

For further information please contact Director Michael Mansfield at 540-293-5502, Gamut Theatre at 540-676-1415 or gamuttheatre@gmail.com.

Gamut Theatre calles for auditions for “Waiting for Godot”

Hat tip, Kathy Guy. From my Inbox to you:

Gamut auditions for Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot

Samuel Beckett

Gamut will hold auditions for the up-coming production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot on Saturday, December 15th from 2 pm to 4 pm and on Monday, December 17th from 7 pm to 9 pm.  Auditions will be held in the June M. Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA.  Gamut is seeking actors to fill 5 roles.  Men and women of any age are encouraged to audition.  No monologues are necessary. Please dress comfortably.

Waiting for Godot is a “tragicomedy in two acts”.  This absurdist play by Samuel Beckett has been considered the most significant English language play of the 20th century.   “Whether or not you will agree, is up in the air…which is entirely consistent with the status of the characters in Godot,” says Miriam Frazier, the production’s director.

Performance dates are February 28 through March 2 and March 7 through 9, 2013 at the June M. McBroom Theatre at Community High School, 302 E. Campbell Avenue, Roanoke, VA.
