“an Invisible Thread” sweepstakes

Here’s a link to another book giveaway. Simon & Schuster’s Book Club, ‘Something to Read About,’ is having a fan sweepstakes for their August book club pick, an INVISIBLE THREAD” by Laura Schroff and Alex Tresniowski.

The book is about how Laura, a single, successful sales executive, met an 11-year-old homeless boy, Maurice, and how instead of walking away and forgetting about him decided to take him to lunch. It is the story of how after countless meetings they changed each others lives.

Catherine Ryan Hyde, author of “Pay It Forward” said, “I thought I knew what “An Invisible Thread” was going to be.  I thought it would be a simple and hopeful story about a woman who saved a boy.  I was wrong.  It’s a complex and unswervingly honest story about a woman and a boy who saved each other. By its raw honesty and lack of excess sentimentality, it is even more inspirational. This is a book capable of restoring our faith in each other, and in the very idea that maybe everything is going to be okay after all.”

About this blog

Books editor Suzanne Wardle read cereal boxes, lists of ingredients and just about anything when she was a child, so it’s no wonder she grew up to read for a living at a newspaper. She posts reviews, news, discussion topics and musings on literature of all types. When she’s not reading, she’s out on the greenway with the dog, testing recipes in the kitchen and trying to persuade friends to watch bad monster movies with her.
