Catching Up

For the past few weeks I’ve been on hiatus from the blog–a big thanks goes out to everyone who filled in while I was away.

Now that I’m back, I’d like to take a moment to catch up with you. What have you been reading? What books are you excited to start next? Is there anything you’d like to see covered more on the blog?

I’ve been so stressed with the project I’ve been working on at work–the one that’s kept me from the blog–that when at home I’ve been on a reading frenzy. I took to hart Charlaine Harris’s statement, “Here’s to books, the cheapest vacation you can buy,” and for me it definitely is. Nothing clears my head and refreshes me like a good book. Of course ‘good’ is relative. When I’m stressed like this I like ‘vacation’ books, ones that don’t require too much heavy thinking or soul searching.

Coincidentally, it’s Harris’s books that I’ve been gobbling up. In the past two months I’ve read eight of her books. I’m on book nine of the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series and am eager to read the rest.

Please take a moment to let me know what you’re reading. I’m excited to be back to blogging and looking forward to hearing your input.

About this blog

Books editor Suzanne Wardle read cereal boxes, lists of ingredients and just about anything when she was a child, so it’s no wonder she grew up to read for a living at a newspaper. She posts reviews, news, discussion topics and musings on literature of all types. When she’s not reading, she’s out on the greenway with the dog, testing recipes in the kitchen and trying to persuade friends to watch bad monster movies with her.
