May 2, 2008Attic Productions holds auditions May 10th for summer musicalAttic Productions, Botetourt County's community theater, is holding auditions on May 10th at 10 a.m. for their summer musical, "Annie Get Your Gun." Attic Productions Holding Auditions for summer musical “Annie Get Your Gun” Attic Productions will hold auditions for their summer production of Roger and Hammerstein’s musical, “Annie Get Your Gun” at the Fincastle United Methodist Church sanctuary on the morning of May 10th at 10 AM. There are 22 characters of various ages with speaking and many other non-speaking chorus parts. There are 9 scheduled performances running July 31st thru August 16th. All performances will be staged at Attic’s theatre. Interested actors may audition with a script of their own choice or may cold-read selected sections of script from the play with other actors. Actors should come prepared to sing something. A piano will be available for use. Any musicians interested in participating in this show are also encouraged to contact director, Carl Bridgman as soon as possible. Full orchestration music has been rented for this show which features Irving Berlin music. Rehearsals are anticipated to begin late May. Then there are a number of non-speaking parts representing anything from Circus Roustabouts to English aristocracy such as Queen Victoria, the Czar of Russia, the King of Italy and the President of France. All must be able to sing to some degree since this is a musical. Almost everyone has, at least, one line. The following is the line up of the main characters: Annie Oakley: Between 28 & 35 or look the age. 259 lines and 8 songs Frank Butler: (30-40). 153 lines and 7 songs Buffalo Bill Cody: (35-50). 112 lines and 1 song Dolly Tate: Female, (25-35). 73 lines and 2 songs Tommy Keeler: (20-22). 23 lines and 7 songs Winnie Tate: (17- 20). 28 lines Charlie Davenport: Middle-aged (preferably bald). 103 lines and 1 song Foster Wilson: (Middle-aged). 35 lines and 1 song Sitting Bull: (Middle-aged). 53 lines Jesse: Annie’s sister, around 14 years. 8 lines Nellie: Annie’s sister, around 12 years. 15 lines Little Jake: Annie’s brother, around 10 years. 20 lines Pawnee Bill: (Middle-aged). 19 lines Sylvia Potter Porter: (Middle-aged). 5 lines Band leader: Adult. 5 lines Mrs. Schuyler Adams: (Middle-aged) Eagle Feather: Adult (Any age) Running Deer: Adult (Any age) Dining car waiter: Adult (Any age) Sleeping car porter: Adult (Any age) 3 singing cowboys with lines Any number of cowgirls Can-can girls Other Extras and singers are needed.
