Botetourt County Sheriff Ronnie N. Sprinkle announced Friday that three Botetourt County teen-age adult males and two male juveniles have been identified in connection with a series of three break-ins at James River High School.

The sheriff identified the adults, each of whom face one charge of breaking and entering plus one charge of grand larceny, as: Phillip P. Stewart, 18, of Buchanan; Eric S. Blocher, 19, of Eagle Rock; and Jeffrey W. Craighead, 18, of Buchanan. Three charges of breaking and entering plus three charges of grand larceny are being processed regarding two 17-year-old male juveniles. The three adults have been released on bond pending a preliminary hearing July 7 in General District Court for Botetourt County.

Sheriff Sprinkle said that three portable radios were taken from the school April 1. Four laptop computers, a portable radio, and cash were taken May 12, and three portable radios along with cash were stolen May 19 in a third break-in, he stated. With the exception of one portable radio, all the other stolen items were found, representing a total recovery valued at $6,980, Sprinkle said.
