Grim Reaper visits James River High School

grimreaperblog.JPG

Death is not something folks want to think about, but it's prom time on May 3 and the safety groups are reminding students that drinking and driving don't mix and can be fatal.

Today, the Grim Reaper roamed the halls and classrooms of James River High School in search of a victim. Science teacher Barbara Kolb remarked: "I've taught for a long time and I know it seems odd to have the Grim Reaper walking the halls. Believe it -- if the awareness works, it really beats seeing an empty desk on Monday morning that will never be filled by that student again."

We had a post April 30 about state police bringing their drunk-driving simulator to Lord Botetourt High School in advance of that school's prom, which also is this weekend.
