Historic Fincastle gives tours

Historic Fincastle, Inchisfin.org is adding to the local tourism business and recently gave two tours to out of towners.

Cassandra Bulmer of HFI said, " With the high price of gasoline, we want families and groups to know there's lots to do right here in Fincastle. They can schedule a Fincastle tour, visit the Early Cabin, the Botetourt History Museum, and enjoy a picnic lunch."

Here are the details on two recent tour groups:



Tour Groups 001-Brownies from Stuart's Draft VA-Sat. May 17th--These Brownies toured the town of Fincastle with, HFI volunteer, Sally Eads. They also visited the James Matten Early Cabin & herb garden before they enjoyed their picnic lunch near the courthouse. They are pictured in the James Matten Early Cabin with HFI member, Cassandra Bulmer.

Tour Groups 003-Virginia Wheelers, Inc--an RV club with members from around VA. They were hosted in Botetourt County by Sara and Sherman Zimmerman on the weekend of May 3rd. They enjoyed a tour of the town with HFI volunteer, Anne daCosta. They are pictured in front of the Bank of Fincastle.hfitourblog2.JPG


Historic Fincastle, Inc. offers guided tours in the Town of Fincastle and a map of the town highlighting historic homes.
Cost: $8.00 per adult, Couples $15.00, Children under 12 are free. Additional information is available on the HFI web site-www.hisfin.org or by calling 540 473-3077.
