July 4, 2008Fire near Buchanan grows to more than 100 acres2:06 p.m., Friday, July 4: The fire in the mountains near Buchanan has grown to about 100 acres, according to the the U.S. Forest Service. Because of the fire, Virginia 43 is blocked to through traffic between the Buchanan town limits and the Bedford County line, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
