Vacation Bible Schools for this week and weekend

Fincastle Community Vacation Bible School will be all week at the Family Life Center of Fincastle United Methodist Church from tonight through Friday night. The theme this year is a Beach Party. Bible School begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. Ages preschool through 5th grade. Fun, Bible Stories, crafts and music are part of the program each night.

St. Mark's United Methodist Church will have Sunday night Bible School through August beginning July 13.

St. Mark’s Vacation Bible School will run Sunday evenings July 13 through Aug. 10, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The theme will be “Beach Party: Surfin’ Through the Scriptures.” The Bible stories presented will encourage children to develop so-called Beach Be-Attitudes: Be Obedient, Be Kind, Be Forgiving, Be Bold, and Believe. All the old VBS favorites will be included: crafts, snacks, music, and recreation, along with a new segment that combines science experiments with spiritual lessons.

Classes are available for ages 3 through those in the 5th grade. An adult class led by veteran teacher Norman Craft will take place at the same time.

To register for Vacation Bible School or find out more about children’s ministries at St. Mark’s, call the church office at 992-3030.
