Soccer Camp adds three to free church-related sports camps in Botetourt this summer

The Soccer Camp going on at Fincastle Baptist Church ended last night after three succesful nights, said Eryn Barkett, whose company Barkett-Allen Capitol of Fincastle helped sponsor the free event along with Fincastle Baptist Church Sunday, July 13, through Tuesday, July 15. As for numbers, 164 kids came out for the camp and 32 volunteers from the high schools, community and local businesses came to help out.

Each student recieved a free soccer ball and T-shirt. They were grouped by ages -- groups such as 7- to 9-year-olds -- and the enthusiasm for the game was apparent. Barkett is in his third year of offering the camp at the church. "We are so appreciative for everything the church has done for us as well as the volunteers. The kids have a huge benefit from the free camp."
