T-Minus 30 days and counting until school starts -- read, read, read!

summerreadingblog.JPG
Have your kids, especially your high school students, completed the summer reading assignments yet?

Assistant Superintendent John Busher said at the school board meeting last week that summer reading should be coming along. For those students at Lord Botetourt High School that came with the recently mailed class schedules. All of the assignments are internet based and the school media center will be open for internet access as are the three public libraries, said principal Alan Brenner. Call the school at 992-1261 for times the media center is open.

Yes -- grades will be involved!

At James River the entire school is reading "Rocket Boys" (or "October Sky") by Homer Hickham. In spite of what your rising freshman at JRHS may have told you that they have no journal, Central Academy Middle School handed out packets. If your high school students do not have their journals, here's the way to get what you need.
