September 4, 2008Hakim Maloum made it to Los AngelesHakim Maloum reached Venice Beach, Los Angeles at noon, August 25th, 2008 -- 166 days after he started walking in Union Square, New York on March 12th, 2008. He averaged about 18 miles a day, walking roughly 3,000 miles across the United States, lost about 70 pounds, and used up over 11 pairs of sneakers! Maloum walked through Botetourt County in April.
