Weather photos from this morning

30 a.m. the sleet was coming down.

Three miles west of Fincastle at 8:30 a.m. the sleet was coming down.

Schools were on time, but those on the northern end of the county saw some ice related accidents as a few folks slid on the road.  These pictures came from Breckinridge Mill Road from around 8 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. west of the Town of Fincastle. A Jeep Cherokee hit a tree on that road near the bridge over the north fork of Catawba Creek this morning, February 18. Another vehicle on Grove Hill Road had slid off the road near the entrance to the barn road to the Grove Hill Farm. Temperatures were expected to warm into the 40s today with rain showers before winds pick up and drive the low front through the area.
