Wreck on Springwood Road involved students

A two -car crash on Springwood Road this morning involved students at James River High School. The accident took place at 5986 Springwood Road at 8:52 a.m.. A school bus heading from Central Academy to James River waited in traffic for the wreck to clear. A student on the bus texted the Botetourt View. He identified two of the people involved as JRHS students, both minors in one vehicle.

Sgt. Rob Carpentieri of the Virginia State Police confirmed the accident, but is waiting on Trooper Michael Patrick who answered the call, to contact him with the details of pending charges and if the weather had anything to do with the crash. The northern end of the county did have ice and snow from about 6:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. Carpentieri did say there were no injuries in the crash.
