The James River High School Knightly Players will present the full length comedy “A Handful of Rainbows” written by Jonathan Troy on Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 4th in the high school theatre. The two evening performances will both begin at 7:30 PM. General admission tickets will be available at the door for $3 per person.
This story is set in the 60’s in Hollywood, California in a theatrical boarding house owned by two sisters, Marion Bradford (played by Kaitlyn Meadows) and Meg Bradford (played by Rachel Bryant). The sisters are struggling to make ends meet and loss of the boarding house to foreclosure seems inevitable. The house is filled with an assortment of struggling performers, some of which are a bit eccentric, setting up some interesting and comedic situations as they experience life, with all its ups and downs. Actors in the house are played by Josh DiPalma, Chelsea MacCormack, Jordan DiPalma, Jordan Hoover, Emily Kettleson, Martin Burch, Sean Aaron and Jessica Bertholf. The technical team consists of Kristina Dant, Tali DiPalma, Sandi Mahon and Katie Kane. In the end, the message of continued hope and determination to reach your goals is conveyed in this heartwarming comedy.
“I’ve enjoyed working with this talented group of young people. This production promises to be most enjoyable and entertaining and we would really like to see strong support from the community for all the hard work that has gone into this show.” said director, Cathy Henderson.
